The NAACLS Board has opened a 45 day public comment period on the Draft Standards for Accredited and Approved Programs. The public comment period began on , June 20, 2012, and will conclude August 6, 2012. Comments may be submitted via email to standards@naacls.org.

The Joint Annual Survey of Programs has been released. It was sent from the ASCP. Please remember this is required of all Accredited/ Approved programs who had students in 2010-2011. James E. The newest NAACLS Annual Volunteer Report is out, and our volunteers should be extremely pleased with their performance. Program Directors of NAACLS accredited/approved programs, however, should also be happy in knowing that NAACLS’ peer review process is showing an amazing amount of consistency, and even improvement, compared to last year’s first edition of the report.

The Summer 2012 cycle includes programs that will have site visits during Spring 2012 and will be placed on the agenda for the Summer 2012 meeting of the review committees. Recommendations from the committees will be acted upon by the Board in Fall 2012.

As mentioned before, the NAACLS News is going through some changes. After this issue the NAACLS News will be using a blog format in order to deliver more consistent content.
