Recognizing our Volunteers: Debra Wood
By: Edward Rotchford, Accreditation Specialist/Volunteer Services Manager
This past summer, one of NAACLS’ most frequent volunteers, Debra Wood, was the winner of the first annual urEssential award sponsored by Cardinal Health. As a result of this award, Cardinal Health established a $20,000 scholarship in Debra’s name to the Indiana University Foundation.
Debra is the Histotechnology Program Director at the Indiana University School of Medicine, and in addition to her term on the NAACLS’ Review Committee of Accredited Programs from 2010-2014, she continues to serve as a site visitor and self-study reviewer for NAACLS accredited programs. You can read more about the urEssential award and Debra’s story at http://www.cardinalhealth.com/urEssential.
Congratulations Debra, and thank you for continuing to be a part of the NAACLS community!
